Math Contents in November

DSCN0852On Nov. 14-15, 8 Academy teams competed in a 36-hour contest using mathematics to present solutions to real-world modeling problems!   Some teams, for example, had to calculate the best way to track and contain the Ebola outbreak.  Others tried to streamline rush hour train schedules for commuters.  We’ll know the results of the contest in a few weeks as their solutions are examined by judges. Academy teams have been participaing in the contest since 2007. Pictures at www.flickr.com/photos/dmps_academy
