AP Exams are given in the first weeks of May. Exams cost $93 each. DMPS students register for exams with the bookkeeper at their home schools. Out of District students register with Kim Kinney at the Academy Office. Please click headline for more details.

Twenty-two students represented Mongolia at the University of Chicago’s Model UN county conference this past weekend in Chicago from Feb 2-5. Academy’s Science Bowl team took 2nd place at the Iowa Regional High School Science Bowl contest held at Ames Laboratory. Academy’s team was Connor Johnson, Shivani Kumaresan, Aditi Jithendra, Kevin Li and Evan Hilton. First place, Valley High School, was led by Gabe Mintzer, also an Academy science student. The Science Bowl is an opportunity for Iowa’s top science and math students to face-off on their knowledge of math and a range of science disciplines. Congrats to all.
Students enrolled in Chinese courses co-hosted the Chinese Association of Iowa’s New Year Celebration performing songs and dances after a week of Chinese art and cooking. Heden Perez and Carolynn Luong were named Youth of the Year. Click headline for more pictures.
