Students from Central Academy have won first place in the “Math Madness” AMC/Interstellar High School Mathematics National Championship, sponsored by the Mathematical Association of America. 173 students who take AP classes at DMPS earned honors from the College Board, the second most ever recorded by the school district. Sixteen students earned the prestigious AP National Scholar Award. Eleven DMPS seniors, who attend Central Academy, have been chosen as 2014 Semi-Finalists for the National Merit Scholarship, placing them among the top young scholars in the state and nation.
