Final Payment for AP Exam Orders Due

Reminder: Payment for Advanced Placement (AP) exam orders are due March 3.

If you paid the $40 deposit in November, the balance of $57 is due by March 3.  Please make remaining payments to your school’s bookkeeper.

Students who qualify for textbook fee waivers or reductions, have their exams paid for by a grant from the United Way. Your school’s bookkeeper automatically applied the grant to all students who qualify with no deposit required. However, if you cancel an order, or just don’t show up for the exam, you will owe $40. The grant does not cover the cancelation fee.

Most exams are ordered before November 15, 2022.  Exams may still be ordered through MY AP CLASSROOM between November 15, 2022 and March 15, 2023 but a late order fee is added to the cost of the exam (AP classes that START in second semester have until March 15 to place orders with no late order fees).  To finalize our orders and ensure all exams are paid for before the College Board’s ordering deadline, we ask that all remaining fees be paid by March 3.

The College Board sets additional fees. They can be avoided. Here is the list:

  • LATE ORDER FEE: This $40 fee is added if your order is submitted by the school after Nov. 15, 2022.   Submitting your order by Nov. 4, 2022, gives us time to ensure all orders are correct before we finalize the school order with the College Board on November 15.
  • CANCELATION FEE: This $40 fee is added if you cancel an ordered exam any time after November 15, 2022.  If you do not show up for an ordered exam it becomes canceled. The United Way grant for students with textbook waivers does NOT cover the cost of a cancelation fee– it only pays for exams that are taken. So, if the grant is covering your exam costs and you cancel, you will have to pay $40.
  • LATE TESTING FEE: This $40 fee is added if you postpone your test to the late testing period in the third week in May. This fee can be waived for a good reason.
