2-hour Late Start March 7

Dear Central Academy Students and families,

Because of weather conditions, Des Moines Public Schools will be starting 2 hours later today, Monday, March 7.

Here is how this affects Central Classes:

At DMPS home High Schools: 

  • Periods 1 and 2 cancelled.
  • Period 3 starts at 10:25.
  • No MTSS period
  • Students going to Central for period 4 will leave P.3 at 10:50 to catch the Central Bus and eat lunch at Central when you arrive.
  • Students going to Central for period 5 who normally eat lunch during MTSS time, will have a grab and go lunch at 12:00 at their high schools so they can catch the bus to Central at 12:20.

Central High School students:

  • Periods 1, 2 AND 3 cancelled.
  • Shuttle Buses Central will run at their normal times with the first arrival at 11:10 (leaving the high schools at approximately 10:50).

Central Middle School students:

  • 8th Grade Academy classes are cancelled.
  • Prep Academy (7th Grade) at the normal time.
  • Buses will be at home schools at approximately 11:30 to pick up 7th graders for Academy.
