Late Start Schedule at Central

Dear Central Academy Students and families,

Because of severe cold weather expected tomorrow morning, Des Moines Public Schools will be starting 2 hours later on Thursday, January 6, 2022.

Here is how this affects Central Classes:

At DMPS home High Schools: 

  • Period 1 cancelled.
  • Block 3 starts at 10:25. (Remember there is no period 2 on Thursdays)
  • Students going to Central for block 5 leave period 3 at 10:55.
  • Lunch as usual.

Central High School students:

  • Period 1 and Block 3 are cancelled.
  • Students will have lunch at 11:15 when they arrive then attend block 5 and 7 at normal times.

Central Middle School students:

  • 8th Grade Academy classes are cancelled.
  • Prep Academy (7th Grade) at the normal time.
  • Buses will be at home schools at approximately 11:30 to pick up 7th graders to come to Academy.
