Pep Assembly Sign Out Procedures

Is your DMPS high school having a pep assembly on a Friday afternoon and you have Period 7 at Central?  Here is how you sign out to attend the assembly:

IF YOU TAKE PERIOD 5, 6, and 7 at CENTRAL:

You have to sign out after period 5 and take the bus back at 1:30.  You can sign out either with Patty Couch in the Academy office or with Tamara Flores in the Campus lobby.  You’ll get back to your school at about 1:45– you’ll be early for the assembly (the assembly schedule is set by your school).

IF YOU TAKE PERIOD 7 at HOME SCHOOL:

You don’t have to sign out!  Just go back after period 5 or 6 as normal. If you’re riding the bus after period 6, you should get back by 2:35.

WHY CAN’T EVERYONE RIDE THE BUS AT 2:20?

We have very limited space on the buses at 2:20.  And because elementary schools get out at 2:45, we can’t call for more buses. So, priority goes to students who are regularly scheduled to ride the bus after period 6.

BUT WHAT IF I DRIVE OR CAR POOL?

If you drive or car pool and have a Central class period 7, then you can sign out after period 6 and attend the assembly.

BUT WHAT IF I WOULD RATHER STAY IN CLASS AND NOT GO TO THE ASSEMBLY?

Great!  We’d love to have you!  Just follow your normal schedule.
