Central Academy History Day

On Monday, April 29 12 Central Academy students participated in State History Day competition at the State Historical Building. The competition was tough, as they were competing with students all across the state of Iowa.

Two students, Elena Hildebrandt and Vaughn Hommerding made it to Nationals!

Elena qualified for her individual performance entitled, “Pearl McGill,” and Vaughn qualified for his website entitled, “Changing Minds, Opening Doors: The Impact of Psychotropic Medication.”

Congratulations to these students and we look forward to seeing them compete at Nationals in College Park, MD (Washington DC) June 9-13!!!

History Day is a collaborative project between Mrs. Snyder’s AP US history class and Mrs. Finnegan and Ms. Morain’s Advanced American Literature classes.
