Winter Weather Advisory and Virtual Classes

Dear Central Academy Students and Families,

Due to the winter weather advisory, DMPS in-person classes will be dismissed 2 hours early (12:40 for elementary and 1:25 for middle and high schools).  In-person period 4 classes will be asynchronous today so that students and staff have time to get home before travel becomes hazardous.  Afternoon hybrid classes at our sister program, Central Campus, will be virtual today

However, virtual classes will continue as scheduled, including hybrid cohorts on their virtual day (if this is you, please check with your teacher for how your virtual hybrid class will proceed).

We know that some of our Academy students log into their Academy classes at their home schools.  Academy staff are aware that some of you may need to leave period 3 early (1:25) to catch buses or may arrive late to period 4 for the same reason.  All Academy teachers are able to easily see in their attendance charts which students may need this accommodation because of improvements in our system.

PSAT ON TUESDAY

If you signed up to take the PSAT on Tuesday, Jan. 26, we are prepared and ready to administer this exam as scheduled.  Kris Hilton is keeping an eye on the weather and has been working with counselors at the comprehensive high schools for a contingency plan if travel is still impacted by this storm.  Assume that everything will go forward as planned unless you hear from Kris Hilton.
