Summer Pottery Wheel Check Out

Summer POTTERY WHEEL PICK UP May 28th

Message from Mrs. Green:

With my personal wheel and the four little wheels, each of you get a wheel for a MONTH!

IF you are in the first round of users, on MAY 28th you will need to pick up… (Anna, Mags, Sage, Sidney ONLY)

  • A wheel
  • Basic tool kit
  • A stool

You will pick your wheel, tools and clay up AT THE SAME TIME AS YOUR POTTERY PICK UP on May 28th.

You will be allowed to have ONE ADDITIONAL person out of your car to help with the wheel and box of clay. They should return to your car while you get the rest of your things.

On May 28th EACH one of you will need to pick up.

  • One box of clay

Don’t forget your clay!
Having a wheel but no clay would be very very sad.

Switching Wheel Schedule

  • You will be responsible to make arrangements and deliver the wheel to the next person in your group. If you are unable to do this, please let me know so I can make arrangements to do so. By now you should all have each other’s numbers.
June July August
Anna B >>> Precious >>> Emily
Mags >>> Hannah >>> Yanni
Sage >>> Noah >>>
Sidney N >>> Kennedy >>> Talia

Wheel Details

  • The smaller wheels will only handle about 5#s of clay. These small wheels are not perfect. Take time to find what works best for you and the wheel.
  • You will need to find a safe area to set up your home studio. Because of safety issues, please do not let non potters use the wheel.
  • Do not leave children unattended with wheel.
  • You MUST make sure your wheel head is level. You can adjust the legs or put something under the leg to do so. You do not want the wheel to wobble.
  • These are secondhand wheels and I will not be fixing or replacing if they break. Sorry.
  • Use at your own risk.
  • You will be in charge of cleaning and disinfecting the wheel and tools when you get the wheel AND before you deliver it to the next potter.
  • You will be given basic tools and one box of clay.
  • Please DO NOT BUY MORE CLAY. This is not a time for production, it is a time to practice your skills and techniques. Recycle your clay and keep throwing.
  • Nearing the end of your time, you are allowed to keep your highest quality of work to be fired when returning to school. You will be responsible to transport this work back to school.
  • If you are the last potter in your group, you will be responsible for returning everything back to school.
  • Last potters, you will be allowed to keep the wheel until the end of August, although we will be back in school.
  • Text me if you have any questions.

See you soon! Be well!
