8th Graders Debate Important Election Issues!

8th Grade Gov’t students conducted a mock election with TV ads, flyers, political platforms, campaign managers and a full out debate of the issues modeled on the national presidential election. Social Studies Students Welcome Afghan Ambassador to USA

Dr. Hamdullah Mohib, Afghanistan’s Ambassador to the USA visited Des Moines at the invitation of the Des Moines Foreign Relations Committee. Social Studies Dept. chair, Canada Snyder, working with Tamara Elwell, created an opportunity for 300 students to ask questions and listen to this global leader. Zafar Honored at White House
